handmade: gift for j&km baby

3 months ago, W asked me to make a baby gift set of a blankie and matching bib for her pregger friend.

her endorsement of my sewing skills gave me that boost in confidence to fuel my sewing fervor.

after 5 blankies, 4 hand embroideries, 15 bibs later, i finally went about to finish this project for her.

i must say, i am pretty proud of this.

close up of the hand embroidery – back stitching. you can find out how to hand embroider here and here.

tutorial for the blankie can be found here in my blog.

i used DMC cotton embroidery thread for the hand embroidery. the blankie is from suzy ultman’s critter community owls retro for kaufman fabrics 100% cotton and dimpled minky fabric.
